Artist Statement

I am a Brazilian photographer proud of my roots and of living in a multi-ethnic country culture so intense in everything. Whether photographing the Iemanjá party or a button football match, I show in a positive way how Brazilians demonstrate their passion. Another way is by portraying young people: workers, mothers, dancers and athletes. I want to value people who are proud of their own culture. To highlight that I emphasize woman strength with a Brazilian aesthetic. The process is reversed with man, where I look for the vulnerable side of their personality.

In general, my interests are in religious festivals, leisure on the beach, workshops, dance schools and sports championships. I look for color and clarity in my images and use a lower perspective in most.

My passion for new trends openned my eye to good aesthetics and a sense of fashion.

Photojournalism also has a very strong influence on my way of seeing the world. I am also strive for

storytelling in several images in which I can create

a documentary project.

I am the 5th generation of a family of photographers and filmmakers. They gave me a critical understanding of visual culture from an early age on.

Having ventured into 41 countries contributed to a plural worldview, respecting different cultures and beliefs. People experience the same day-to-day challenges in many parts of the world.
